Our October 15 meeting turned into a Progressionista Pageant. We made crowns, sashes and came up with our own platforms for community service. Our next read is Beauty Queen (Whatever After) by Sarah Mlynowski. The October 2016 progressionista is pageant winner and overall queen Teresa Alvarez! The girls couldn't get enough of her triumphant story of overcoming obstacles and losses to win her first of many pageant titles. The best part was her explanation of the service behind pageantry and sharing all of the amazing ways she give back to the community.
